Every year, we try to build a window for the cover of out Christmas Card. This stained glass Gothic Angel of Prayer seemed just right.

To give the angel beautiful lace befitting a heavenly visitor, we covered glass with a sand blast resist and peeled away the places where we needed the lace. Across the yoke of her dress, and down the front of her dress.

Then the pieces go into the sandblaster to give definition to the lace pieces.

Then we both solder the window. 

She looks quite different in various qualities of light. All very heavenly. 


Here she is in her permanent home.
It's a night shot so the background looks black and the etched parts of her gown really stand out.
