This oak cabinet was built by a woodworker who paid
extreme attention to detail. Because it was so finely constructed, we
wanted to use special care when we installed the stained glass panels.
So rather than using any nails, we put silicone in the frames like we always do, then we placed the back nailer strips in place and allowed the silicone to dry and hold both the glass and the wood in place. |
We used little strips of wood which put the right amount of pressure on the nail strips to hold everything in place as the silicone dried. |
In this shot you can see the waterglass in the prairie style glass. |
With the silicone dried, we could close the doors and see how nice they looked. |
| And here the cabinet is, ready for the glass to get a final polish and then it's off to it's home in a craftsman style house. | |
